Newest Publication/NaNo Chatter!

The cover of my newest ebook, Fit For A Prince. The cover of my newest ebook, Fit For A Prince.

I’m really quite excited this week, as I’ve got a fair amount going on – first of all, on Saturday, I published the first part of a new series that’s going to be in four parts on Kindle: Fit For A Prince. Fit For A Prince: Part One is currently for sale on Amazon at £1.99 in the UK and $2.99 for the USA, and the next instalments will come soon at similar prices. I’m really quite excited about continuing on with this series, to be honest: it follows the relationship between arrogant and filthily minded Prince Aydan and the manservant that is brought in to try and bring him into line, the good Nathaniel Valentine.

Aydan’s ridiculously full of himself, selfish and generally focused on his own well-being and comfort; he likes women, drink and the occasional good fight, and that’s the sort of thing he plans to go on with forever. To prepare him as a more proper prince, Nathaniel is brought onto the staff – a well-focused, strict and witty fellow of indeterminate origins who is more than willing to introduce Aydan to a firm hand and some high standards.

It’s fun to write, I’ll be honest, and I have so much affection for the characters I’ve introduced already, especially given that I can play around with Nathaniel and Aydan’s initially somewhat fraught D/s relationship focused on discipline and its evolution into something quite different with the next few parts!

What’s also really promising for me is that the place this series is set in, the Kingdom of Aria, is on a world called the Dragonplanet, and this is the world I’m going to be expanding on and writing more for when NaNoWriMo rolls around this year!

There’s only 11 days until the NaNo days roll around, and I’m really, really revved up for the event! I’ve had goes at National Novel Writing Month before but I’ve always tried to push myself as a pantser, and this year I’ve been making use of Quoll Writer to plan a lot so I’m really a planner this year. I’m so, so ready to write this year, and I honestly believe this is going to be the first year I manage to win NaNo!

The novel I’m planning is going to be called A Glint Of Gold, and it’s going to expand on the in-universe mythos as well as follow three unlikely adventurers as they move on together. A dragon-turned-human, Ladon, who actually has a few things in common with Nathaniel in Fit For A Prince, his noble wife, Regina Redwater, who is sharp-witted and fond of a sharp sword, and a librarian who really falls for the both of them along the way, a young Benjamin Thwaites.

Just planning the book I’m ecstatic, to be frank, and I can’t wait to start actually writing it!
