Chapter 9: It's Back!

“Please, let me out of this dream. Let me wake up.” But it was no use, because I could not get up from the ground. The weight of this woman had now become deadweight and together we remained stretched out horizontally on the earth. Naked and cold was how I felt, even though this vision was outside during the humid summertime. Swiftly my eyes began to peer into my surroundings, and then I noticed off into the distance, a pile of junk. There stood an old building, a tractor, and a bunch of farm equipment. Then my eyes shifted towards the stream, which flowed parallel to where I continued to lay naked, until I am no longer. The flesh on my body began to fall off the bones, as if I was being peeled like a potato. The only thing remaining on the ground was the bones, dust, and the familiar smell of rotten eggs, or death, which lingered within my bedroom after the mist had left. Without any warning to change scenes, the dream shifted into a new direction, and I am no longer apart of this woman. This also meant that I was no longer watching this dream through her eyes. Maybe this was because she had now turned to dust, and she needed me to see with my own eyes the rest of her story. She’s no longer a living human being, a woman. She’s now part of the earth. She’s dirt. She’s been reduced to zero.
