Lovecraft's "The Tree." Have you read this one?

With all the chat about the World Fantasy Awards removing Lovecraft as their icon award figure, I thought it might be appropriate to read one of his short stories. The Tree isn't his usual fare. It's a very short story and not only supernatural but also quite puzzling. I liked it because it takes place on a mountain and, well, if you know me, you know I love the supernatural powers of mountains and summits.

Here you go. Lovecraft's "The Tree." I doubt you'll observe olive trees quite the same again.

Werner Paula, this story is one I haven't read, but Lovecraft is a favorite writer of mine!

I've just downloaded "The Haunting of Jezebeth" and "The Magic of Loons." I'd already downloaded "Hildie at the Ghost Shore." ("Between the Darkness and the Dawn" doesn't actually seem to be offered for free, but I remember beta reading that one, and it's a wonderful story!) Thanks for sharing these for free! Heaven only knows when I'll get around to reading them (I don't read on my Kindle app as much or as regularly as I read print), but they're in the queue. :-)

Paula Cappa Thanks, Werner. Glad to have your interest. Between the Darkness and the Dawn is still 99cents and Amazon won't price match it yet. I'm working on them!

Werner I gave them the feedback about a "lower price" (free) just now, Paula, so hopefully they'll get the message!

Werner Having beta read "Between the Darkness and the Dawn" some time ago, I just now gave it a five-star rating here on Goodreads, and accompanied that with a short endorsement, though not a full-scale review. If anyone is interested, what I wrote is here: www.goodreads.com/review/show/1446837298 .
