THE WRITING BUZZKILL

  You watch the news and find something inspiring to write about, or a friend tells you a story, or a dream she had the previous night. An idea jumps in your mind and begin to play cirque du soleil. You are listening, but anxious to return to your writing table. When you finally get there, doubts sets in, the zeal drains out of you, and leaves you standing and wondering what went wrong. To write a story— not just a story— an interesting story, you must have a strong desire to get your story
