Rating and Reviewing

I'm in that agonizing phase where I wait for ratings and reviews to trickle in for my latest work. I'm very grateful for that handful that have arrived so far.

As an indie author, I rely upon your ratings and reviews to legitimize my work to those who have not read me before. Thanks for reading and reviewing my work, that feedback is valuable to me as a writer and as a bookseller.

The perfect review probably has both positive and negative elements. The positive is great for boosting sales and encouraging the writer. The negative helps to warn people who may be annoyed by certain shortfalls. For instance, "this is too bloody and gory for me!" will turn away readers who hate that kind of content, which is good for them and good for me. I want to find the people who will enjoy the book and sell to them.
