My New Year’s Resolutions

Hey Y’all,

It’s not too late for New Year’s resolution’s right? Well, it has taken the month of January for me to really make a plan. I had my “resolutions” down at the start of 2016, as to what they are, but the plan to achieve them was missing. My plan is a work-in-progress and will probably be trial-by-error, but I do have plan.

So my resolutions…

Less chaos and more organization
More family fun-time
Improve my writing
Meet the editor of my dreams (may have found her)
Write more and publish more often

So, am I shooting for too many goals? I don’t think so. I think they are reasonable and are needed in my life. What about you? Were you late to game like me?

My plan to achieve these resolutions…

A day planner. Man have I been searching for the right one. They are hard to find. If you don’t know this, I’m left handed. And if you aren’t too then you probably have no idea our pain. Anything with a ring is the enemy. That is not an exaggeration. The struggle is real. So the planner! The one I’ve chosen is the Passion Planner. You’ll hear from me if I love it. I got the limited edition blue one. It arrived earlier this week and so far I really like it.
Actually using the day planner.
Planning my family meals. I’m the person that visit’s Kroger on a daily basis because I have no clue what I’m going to cook for the night until I get to the store. I HATE THIS. I hate to cook. I hate to grocery shop. I’m so not domesticated. Sometimes I’m not even sure why my husband married me.
Scheduling time to write, blog, market, research, and read. I do them on a whim. This is NOT good for me or my family and definitely not my writing. #ChaosIsTheEnemy

Reading is a sick obsession. I love it, love it, LOVE IT. And it can get in the way of my writing and spending time with my family. So it too must be scheduled.
Revamp my published work before creating new. I spoke about this in my last newsletter, but I’m having all of my books re-edited. The way I see it is if I’m not 100% satisfied with the quality of writing already out there then I needed to do something about it.
A home office–my dream. I’ve wanted one for several years now. I’m forcing my husband to get his sh*t together and get things done around our house so that I can finally have space for an office. We have so many projects going on at home that there doesn’t seem like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Can anyone relate?

Okay, so I think that is enough for Saturday, don’t y’all?

You guys have a good weekend and be sure to squeeze in a few chapters of a good book. At all… fictional  boys are a girls kryptonite. Am I right?

xoxo, nancy
