Try reading the Song of the Lioness Quartet series by Tamora Pierce.. Alanna may become equal.. Or event the Beka Cooper Series by Tamora Pierce..
I don't suppose you'd care to share the names of the books that you thought had characters even with Katsa? I could use a book with a solid lead these days : )
no one is exactly like Kasta but i can give you book with heroines that i liked just as much

Could you please recommend some more novels with female leads like Katsa, preferabbly high fantasy without too much magic. I agree no one is exactly like katsa, but all the other heroines seem to disappoint once you have read Graceling and I am really looking forward to reading another book with such strong characters and original plots.
definitely read the poison study series. Death Sworn by Leah Cypess is pretty good. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken is AMAZINGGGG. The Forsaken by Lisa M Stasse is also really good. More crazy cool dystopian than fantasy, but still awesome. Enjoy.
