Of course in the future I think I will read the Denny version since it was so highly recommended. IS there an annotated version by any chance?

Yeah. I mean the one I read had occasional asterixes noting things but I wanted to know what the songs were translated to without having to search it up!
The Denny doesn't include a ton of French, but when it does, it almost always includes a footnote. You might want to browse the Denny version (using the "Search Inside" feature) on Amazon to see if it's what you want.
Try Fahnestock, all the songs and poems are in French with english footnotes
