Maybel1975 Thank-you....he did seem like "an unsettling nuisance" in the book. I felt that the author way implying something that I didn't quite understand and then never mentioned it again. He was tortured...because he felt this unnatural feelings for his sister...or because she was the only one that ever understood him and still was cruel and mean to her.
Then once Eliza came he just tried to take a pictures of her...never talked....never tried to make ammends for the way he treated her mother...

Leanne Mouritzen I agree with you. I certainly was thinking incest and was wondering if the author was just leaving it to the readers imagination. Or maybe Linus was just plain creepy. Good book though. I really enjoyed it.

Elise Brancheau I also did not fully understand why Georgiana went to such great lengths not to be found by her family. Also, the "bad man," that guy who came to fetch Eliza when she was a child (sorry, the name escapes me at the moment), we never really find out why he's such a bad man. Certainly Georgiana's fear of her family could be explained if her brother actually did sexually abuse her; he seems to have physically abused her, when she told him she was leaving. I just wish I had more concrete answers to these questions.

Leanne Mouritzen Yes, I agree

Kachina Yes! I also felt that something else was being eluded to, and I was confused when incest was never directly mentioned.
