I read that they changed the title of the show so that there wouldn't be confusion with the french show that aired on Sundance. I just finished watching that series yesterday and loved it. Totally recommend it! I will likely check out this show when it begins airing in March. Brad Pitt produced it.
I thought the first episode of Resurrection was okay; I like a lot of the people in it. It seems like it's totally going in its own direction though. I have a friend who works in TV and he said that the guy was inspired by The Returned but Resurrection will be significantly different. I mean, it would be no matter what. American TV generally moves faster, with less nuance.
I also heard that A&E is planning to actually do an American version of The Returned, like, a straight up remake. It's the new trend apparently.
