A great review! You're right that this is effectively 'Volume 1' - it's the interim report on the first five or so years of the project. As a result I think the subtitle is a little misleading, as it perhaps suggests the process is complete whereas it's still ongoing. You might be interested in Ann Wroe's 'Perkin' which tells the story of Richard the younger boy in a more narrative structure - though as it was published 20 years ago it doesn't include the more recent documentary finds - or indeed the possibility that Edward V was likely the king crowned in Dublin (and the 'star' of Appendix 3 and your desired thriller :) ) I believe Ms Wroe takes a somewhat different view since these latest findings have been published. I'm currently trying to pull everything together for a future novel of my own, to follow up on my earlier ones - and it's not going to be easy!
