Yep, The Maid turned out great. I didn't realize it was classified as a locked room mystery until I was reading the back book cover. I'll have to remember that for the future!
I didn't think I enjoyed fantasy either, but the world Maas created is relatable and I can picture it easily. Essentially it is a worldview story for the protagonist, who learns that her way isn't the only way. Perhaps a lesson for us all..

I was waiting with bated breath to see which of the two books you didn't like. I read "The Maid" in a book club last year and loved it. I'm glad you did too. I haven't yet picked up the Sarah Maas books because fantasy isn't my jam. Finding out that you like them made me add them to my TBR list.
