A.M. Pfeffer Jumping in here...

Recently published a nonfiction ode to America: OF, BY, AND FOR THE HANGED MAN.

And while happy to let the back cover copy and Amazon/Goodreads reviews do the talking (as well as admittedly eager for feedback), that's selfish author talk. After all, I wrote the book as an effort to share a different perspective with the world, not just to accumulate praise.

The Hanged Man is a depictive historical figure (originated from the Norse god Odin, who hung himself upside down to gain knowledge). And the knowledge gained? That the greatest truths of all our found hidden in our own contradictions. Contradictions like faith, morality, mortality, loyalty, and even equanimity.

Well, in this current Age of Misinformation, it felt more pertinent than ever to explore these contradictions, as the truths revealed are hopefully what can cure this horrid divisiveness, bridging us all back together for the betterment of humanity.

Lofty stuff, I know, but tackled with humor and optimism, I hope many a reader will find solace in embracing a new perspective. Will find renewed energy in embracing critical thought. Will ultimately find their own "Hanged Man."

Joseph Roberson hi, my name is Joseph Roberson and I recently published my first book, One Half-Breath At A Time, on Amazon. I'd love to hear feedback, positive and critical. Thank you!

From the Amazon product page:
Did you know that just changing how you breathe can raise or lower blood pressure, lift mood, reduce anxiety, and send  you off to a good night's sleep? In this book, you'll discover just how easy it is with breath-centered practices!

Lay Of The Land:
Part 1 shows how the rising prevalence of VUCA conditions-volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity-in daily  life cause lifestyle diseases. A perfect example is hypertension, which now afflicts 1.13 billion people worldwide.
Part 2 provides convincing evidence of the effectiveness of breath-centered practices and therapies with medical research, actual programs involving police officers, soldiers and first responders, and veterans with PTSD-plus personal testimony from the author's students who have used these techniques for asthma, insomnia, anxiety, and trauma.
Part 3 explains how breath-centered practices work. Breath is the missing link between, on one hand, lifestyle diseases caused by chronic stress-such as hypertension, anxiety, depression, and diabetes-and, on the other hand, imbalances within the autonomic nervous system. As such, breath-centered practices give you the power to create your own health, well-being, vitality, and success.
Part 4 describes the historical background and cultural context from yoga and other mind/body modalities. Breath-centered practices include techniques of mindfulness, walking meditation (Vipassana), yoga pranayama (breath control), and the physical practices of yoga (asana). Then you are guided to create your own routine.
Part 5 contains clear step-by-step instructions for practicing an extended Breath Inquiry, Yoga for Better Breathing, Optimal Diaphragmatic Breathing, Coherent Breathing (TM), Coherent Walking, and the Fifty To Zen breath meditation.
Part 6 is all about creating small breath-centered habits. First you will discover why habits are so challenging to break or make, then you will follow the only evidence-based, research supported formula as you design your first small daily habit.
Part 7 Resources, includes links to online resources as well as information about the author.

Breath-centered practices are the best free medicine available, so what are you waiting for? Purchase this book and get started!

What's Included:
• Simple, easy to follow instructions for seven breath-centered practices
• Clear, step-by-step instructions in the absolute best habit creation method
• Bleeding-edge research from peer-reviewed journals
• Gripping stories, case histories, and student testimonials
• Illustrations, photos, graphs, and tables
• Inquiries for you to do while you read

Armed with breath-centered practices, you will discover how to turn stress and anxiety into calm ease, productive, power-and joy, one half-breath at a time!

Lorna N. Presumption of Guilt - How the kids for cash scandal trampled justice

Hi everyone. My book, Presumption of Guilt - How the kids for cash scandal trampled justice is coming out in May 2019. It is an explosive account of a headline making prosecution that allowed an experienced judge to be railroaded. I am a former federal prosecutor and call out my former colleagues for falsely accusing the judge for taking money in exchange for jailing kids. I would very much appreciate feedback and comments. Thanks!

Ost Neer Hi everyone,

My name is Ost Neer. I'm an automotive blogger and Ph.D. in social sciences. Today, I would like to present "An Introduction to Academic Driving" to you.

An Introduction to Academic Driving Stories of Cars and Science by Ost Neer

This is the first book from the "Academic Driving" series. 15 popular science articles about cars, societies, technologies, discoveries, music and even astrophysics. This book has NOTHING to do with boring academia; instead, it aims to entertain you with some light and curious stuff.

The book can be easily read in a number of everyday situations: while commuting in public transport, crawling in traffic jams, eating your favourite burger, dreaming about Mars, and others. The book is a perfect read for long road trips. If you have children, the book will keep them engaged on backseats.

The book may also help you passing exams at the College. It has that kind of potential, yeah!

So far, the book is available only in Kindle version (freely accessible through Kindle Unlimited). But the paperback is coming soon. And the paperback will be a completely different experience (thick, slick, and fully illustrated).

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

And yes, your honest reviews are more than welcome!

Truly,
Ost

Carol Es) Hi all.

Shrapnel in the San Fernando Valley by Carol Es

I've been a member of the Non Fiction Club for a while now, but am mostly a lurker. Over the last many years I've worked on a nonfiction book (now released as a memoir because there was no other way to craft it). Shrapnel in the San Fernando Valley, although humorous, it's based around some difficult subject matter: childhood sexual abuse, escaping a destructive cult, and mental illness. But it's main "character" (me) is a creative person who, during these experiences, built careers in both art and music.

Though some of these titles are not nonfiction, I was inspired by Bastard out of Carolina, PUSH, Bee Season, and Beyond Belief.

I would be very grateful for feedback. :)

Jennifer Hunt Hello!

I'm brand new to the Non Fiction Book Club--and eager to engage with its members.

I'm the author of the recently released (self-published) memoir Smoke Rings Rising: Triumph of a Drug-Endangered Daughter. Written during an extremely difficult time in my life--when I was faced with the decision to either adopt my two great-nephews, Nick (4) and Kasey (5), who'd been abandoned by their parents due to drug abuse, myself or adopt them out to a stranger--my book, I hope, will bring awareness to what drug addiction is doing to the bonds between parents and their children.
Thank you!

Vivek Gumaste Extract from my book VQE The Tale of an Indian Physician in the United Kingdom of 1980s'
https://www.amazon.com/V-Q-Indian-Phy...

I would be dishonest if I said that I disliked Great Britain. I didn’t. “Dislike” was an understatement. I abhorred it with the full gravitas of the word; visceral disgust is another term that could approximate my true feelings. Having been born in India in 1954, a mere seven years after the British reluctantly parted with the country, and growing up at a time when the memory of a dominated nation was still fresh in the minds of Indians, I, naturally, harbored an animosity towards Britain as a nation and the English as a people.
Nevertheless, here I was, about to set foot in that very country. My passage to Britain was not a journey of choice, as it was for many awestruck sycophantic Indians of my era. Yes, at that time India had many Indians who, unlike me, looked up to Britain. It was a place that they admired; a fantasyland that made dreams come true for poor Third World Indians; a land of milk and honey that would make them rich beyond their wildest Indian aspirations. Mesmerized by this glowing idyll of Great Britain, they failed to appreciate the dark underbelly of the British and the atrocities they had committed in India – or rather, they chose to knowingly ignore it. What they saw instead was the “the proper Englishman,” a superior human being who came from a more advanced land, his smart Western clothes, his well-articulated language and his white skin, all of which had been carefully projected to highlight the Indian’s own inadequacy.
For the longest time, the word foreign (or phoren as the Indians pronounced it) was synonymous with Britain for most Indians. Their concept of an alien land began and ended with England, the commonly used term for Britain. Most Indians had little knowledge of other Western countries. The “States” did pop up occasionally in their soirees but was never a strong contender to usurp England’s pride of place. In my case, opportunistic though it may sound but honest nevertheless, this trip was to be a stepping stone in my medical career with the lodestar being a little further away across the Atlantic, the United States of America, a country that represented the pinnacle of progress in the twentieth century

Nick Katleman Hi everyone,

I'm excited to announce that my first memoir is being published next week. The book tracks my grandfather's unlikely rise from mailroom employee to President of Twentieth Century Fox Television. Blurb below:

From watching his colleague get shot in the testicles by a jealous producer to running Hollywood’s most successful television studio, Harris Katleman had a front row seat in the development of the television industry. Destined to become a classic account of the business side of entertainment, this book shares what really happened in the early careers of Hollywood stars and the development of iconic programs.

Through a number of hilarious accounts, Harris Katleman shares his journey from office boy to talent agent to television producer, and finally to studio head at both MGM and 20th Century Fox. Along the way, we meet industry giants including Rupert Murdoch, Bob Iger, Barry Diller, Marvin Davis, Kirk Kerkorian, Mark Goodson, and Lew Wasserman.

Enjoy!

Nick Wall Around the World in 575 Songs : Traditional music from all the world's countries Volume 1Around the World in 575 Songs: Africa: Traditional Music from all the World's Countries - Volume 2Around the world in 575 songs : traditional music from all the world's countries Volume 3Around the world in 575 songs : traditional music from all the world's countries Volume 4

Project website https://aroundtheworldin575songs.com/

Sample chapter https://foreverycountryasong.wordpres...

It began with a crazy idea : I committed myself to collecting songs from every country in the world, and writing a book based around the songs chosen. It was to become a festival of cultures - a four volume series, and a website streaming songs from every country in the world. This is for anyone passionate about exploring other cultures.

The four volumes contain 200 chapters, each covering one country. Readers are invited to listen to the featured songs streamed on the project website as they dip in and out of the books. Although the chapters are written as self-contained articles, a number of larger themes run through them all. For example, I look at the role played by music and culture in constructing national identities, and gently deflate a few myths. I tell the stories of artists who’ve fought against the tide of globalisation and tried to keep alive music that’s rooted in traditional culture. Many of the stories are of minority cultures, and include inspiring examples of how musicians contributed to kindling new hope among oppressed minorities and indigenous people.

"Wall is a civil servant yet writes with flair and insight. His entries avoid cliché, he sketches out artist biographies with considerable élan and makes points and links that caused me to think about the music and its surrounding environment. " - Songlines magazine

"Nick Wall presents us with a thoroughly readable, well-researched and stimulating analysis of the sheer variety of music across the world. Every section stimulates the reader to explore the music on the website - and beyond. At the same time, we are encouraged to engage with the cultures, history and personalities of every single country. That's no mean feat." - Fatea Magazine

message 19: by Mark (new)

Mark Oulton Dear Chrissie.

It's an excellent question that has come up before and I am happy to answer it. Sadly, this book does not lend itself to an audio format as there are some visual elements that relate to the Chinese language. Here is an example:

For example, if you see the symbol for a bird, (鸟- niao3) in other structures, you can be pretty sure that it relates: 鸭 - ya4, duck, 鸡 - ji1, chicken, 凤头䴙䴘 - feng4tou2pi4ti1, great crested grebe etc. Similarly, if you see the symbol for fire, (火 - huo3) then composites will relate: 炖 - dun4, a stew, 烟 yan1- smoke, 烛 zhu2, a candle etc. The last one 烛 - zhu2 is particularly helpful as it is a composite of 火 huo3, fire and虫 chong2, an insect, which is one of the functions of a candle (to smoke insects away).

I am sorry I can't help more.

Mark

message 22: by Persephone (new)

Persephone Grey Hi all- I recently wrote my memoir called "The Girl Who Wasn't Me" by Persephone Grey. I would be so grateful if you took the time to check it out. It's the first book told from the perspective of a child that grew up with a parent undiagnosed autism spectrum disorder (that I've been able to find). It's so much more than that though. It's a "Glass Castle" meets "Running with Scissors" type of experience, unique and beautifully haunting in it's own right. My coming out story is lightly woven into the memoir as well.

Pick my book for your book club and I'll send copies! I also have another free eBook giveaway day to leverage. The most important thing to me is sharing my story. There is a whole community of us out there who have been voiceless for a long time.

Description:

Persephone has lived in forty-two homes in seven different states, most of which was before she was a freshman in high school. Her parents set their own agenda for life, shamelessly bringing their kids along for the rocky, steep ride. The Girl Who Wasn’t Me tells the story of a complicated relationship with her mom- in this case, one who was struggling with undiagnosed autism spectrum disorder (known as Asperger’s at the time) and depression and who would enter and exit her children’s life on a whim, not concerned with her children’s well-being.

Persephone recounts how she was drawn back to her mom by force, need, and necessity, establishing a pattern of abandonment and betrayal. She delivers a raw, real account as she shares the details of her experiences in the spirit of honesty, revelation, and candor. In the process of uncovering family secrets, she began to understand how her mom’s undiagnosed autism spectrum disorder and her dad’s ineffectiveness caused huge chasms within her that altered the course of her life. Persephone shares details of her experiences, some for the first time, with the audience. She leaves them to decide who, if anyone, is the villain in her story.

Persephone finds a path to a successful career and life. But it takes traveling down the road to the past, reliving her painful experiences, and accepting her parents for who they are, and ultimately letting them both go.

Hello Everyone,
I'm delighted to present to you my book 'Fantastic Planes and How to Identify Them'. this book covers not only airplanes, but also history, economics, technicalities etc. Scroll down for excerpt, store links etc.
Fantastic Planes and How to Identify Them by Ahnaf Ahmed

Excerpt from Prologue:

"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you will always long to return" - Leonardo Da Vinci

And while looking skyward, identifying aircraft incorrectly might cause disaster. On 17th June 2011, South Korean soldiers fired upon a civilian passenger airliner after mistaking it for a North Korean military aircraft. The aircraft belonged to South Korea's Asiana Airlines and was coming in for landing with 119 people on-board. Thankfully the plane was not damaged and everyone was safe. Being able to identify aircraft correctly would have prevented this shooting incident.

Not everyone is so lucky though. On 1st September 1983, Korean Air Lines flight 007 blundered into Soviet airspace due to enormous errors in navigation. Mistakenly believed to be a U.S. spy plane, it was shot down by a Soviet fighter jet. The 007 flight number, ironically, did not contribute to this mistake. The chain of blunders culminated with the Soviet fighter pilot misidentifying the four-engined Boeing 747 for a four-engined Boeing RC-135 used by the U.S.A. for intelligence gathering. Regrettably, all 269 people on-board died a horrific death in that incident.

Mark Mortensen As a business major I never expected to write a book, but my paternal grandfather Ove Mortensen was such a central figure in my life that I identified a story that had to be told. My World War I biography “George W. Hamilton, USMC: America’s Greatest World War I Hero” (McFarland Publishing, 2011) has a bold title that I stand by. I’m proud to say it’s in higher education libraries such as Stanford, Duke and Harvard and has been used as a textbook at Elon University where I was asked to address the class.

Major Hamilton, who was the battalion commander of my grandfather, was twice recommended for the Medal of Honor and listed in one Leatherneck Magazine article as one of the “TOP 10 Toughest Marines in history. Through research I discovered that the relationship between Hamilton and his father Charles Hamilton had been kept as secretive as possible from society and the Marine Corps. Charles Hamilton was known as “Dean of the Congressional Press Corps” serving a then record 60 years as a Washington, D.C. press correspondent from President Chester A. Arthur to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Additionally Charles Hamilton held a first name relationship with each president. Shortly before my biography was published I spoke with Don Richie, chief historian for the U.S. Senate. Mr. Richie was quite familiar with Charles Hamilton the “Dean”. He was quite surprised when I told him I had finished writing the biography of his son George, who I considered to be America’s greatest WWI hero. The surprise stemmed from the fact that Mr. Richie once actively served as Marine and he stated he never heard of George. So he was well familiar with the father but not the son!

Last summer I was honored to be a guest speaker at the Marine Corps World War I Centennial Anniversary and provide a PowerPoint presentation of Major Hamilton. Later in the year I was selected to be the Veteran’s Day guest speaker on the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day at the Carolina Field of Honor, known to be the largest veteran’s memorial on the east coast outside Washington, D.C. On this occasion I intentionally did not mention Hamilton as I wished to address a wider audience. My talk of WWI was upbeat but followed a theme that today America cares little for history. Additionally, as I am not a veteran, I honored veterans like both my grandfathers who fought in WWI and my father who dropped out of college to serve overseas in WWII.

Earlier this year, while I was watching on television a current edition of PBS Antiques Road Show, a woman from Florida had an Armistice Day hand written note from Colonel Logan Feland USMC to Major Hamilton USMC notifying him the war was over. The appraiser stated there were lots of notes on the last day of the war and this was just another example. Wrong. This note is exceptional and is printed in my book. You see my grandfather was with Major Hamilton and a small contingent of other Marines so far advanced that Hamilton finally received the note from a currier at 1:30 PM, 2 ½ hours after the 11 AM Armistice. This is fully documented in my book. I notified the head of the Marine Corps History Division and a friend, who is a retired Marine Corps lieutenant general and they contacted PBS immediately.

Hamilton tragically died at age 29 a few years after the war and sadly America never got to know the great WWI hero. Having never married I located his closest living relative, an elderly nephew in California. I called the gentleman out of the blue and certainly startled him. I asked him if Charles Hamilton the “Dean of the Congressional Press Corps” was his grandfather, whereupon he answered affirmative. I then asked if Major Hamilton was his uncle and he again answered yes. We became pen pals and developed a unique friendship. In his first letter the nephew stated: “I wish you well, if you take on writing his biography, but realistically, I suspect it will have circulation primarily among the Hamilton’s (none) and the survivors of 1-5 from that war (also none)”.

I tried my best to rekindle a flame for an American WWI hero and one for the ages as the Centennial Anniversary fades away. However as a WARNING, few Americans care about WWI. This biography was written for a small select audience, not mass appeal.

Peter Felton Greetings fellow nonfiction authors!

To date, I have published three nonfiction books. Each of them are available on Amazon, with exclusive previews featured on my Author Page on the network: https://www.amazon.com/Peter-Felton/e...

To receive routine updates on my books as well as other interrelated literary activities on my end, please Like my self-titled Author Page on Facebook today: https://www.facebook.com/AuthorPeterF...

My first nonfiction book was published in 2012. Titled DAILY PUBLIC TRANSIT RIDERSHIP: THE INSIDE SCOOP, this book documents the modern history (covering a 40-year period from the 1970s-2012) of San Francisco Bay Area public transportation--primarily examining the two dominant transit systems in the region, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and "Muni" (the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency/SFMTA). In its lifetime, this modernized public transit literary historical chronicle of mine covers important ground in regards to San Francisco City and Bay Area developments on the public transportation front during the post-World War II era of urban development and transit technology. The book has received several five-star reviews, has sold many copies, and is an excellent companion literary work to other books written about public transportation in the modern world that cover correlative topical territory in different geographic-metropolitan locations around the world. You are also encouraged to read this book after reading others focusing on the pre-WWII romanticized era of (San Francisco Bay Area) public transportation to boot.

My second nonfiction book was published in 2015. Titled, TOMMY WROUGHT: A MUSICAL REFLECTION OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, this analytical literary work serves as a multi-angular comparative analysis between children with special needs of both today and yesteryear, and the musical-historical-political-contextual significance of the Rock Opera Tommy--written by iconic composer Pete Townshend and first performed by legendary Hall-of-Fame British Rock band The Who in 1969. By going back and forth between the background behind the artistic content of the Rock Opera, the personal and group histories shared by the founding members of The Who, as well as children with special needs (namely in terms of individuals who are on the autism spectrum, and/or bear learning differences in school), this book draws attention to the interpersonal features of children with these special outlooks in everyday life and how they can be regarded with deeper understanding and acceptance on the part of today's society. Contrasts are also drawn between how children with special needs in generations past were viewed by their peers and families, and how children of today are seen and heard in such a manner by the given groups of people, as well society(-ies) at large. During its lifetime, Tommy Wrought has received five-star reviews both in America and England. You will definitely want to read it if you like music, are a parent with a special-needs child(ren), an enlightened educator with an open mind and heart, as well as a history buff!

My third book was published in 2018. Titled SCHOOLS OF THOUGHT: WELL-ROUNDED EDUCATION IN THE LANDS OF OPPORTUNITIES, this book serves as a memoir focusing on the highlights and important lessons learned on my end throughout my lifetime of education as a student, and later throughout my wide-ranging career a teacher--at American schools of different foundations (public, private, charter, parochial, immersion, special education, single-sex [for boys and girls, respectively]). Besides telling tales of my own experiences learning in and from the different categorized schools of mine over the decades (1987-2018 to be exact), this book also provides thorough insight for readers into how different schools of the above categories of (American) education operate internally, philosophically, socially, academically, and ultimately in the public eye. You will enjoy reading and learning from this book if you are: a student or parent looking to get the right type of education at a type of school that you feel would be the best fit for you; an aspiring educator looking to land a school that agrees with your teaching methodology; a current teacher looking for a means of moral and professional support in writing; an administrator looking to improve your professional surroundings and horizons; or a civic-minded American who values education as a whole and believes that it should be treated with respect on a universal level at all times.

I am in process of writing my fourth book, which will focus on the ironies and evolution of bullying in the United States of America from a combination cultural-societal-political perspective. Keep your eyes on my Author Page(s) online at Amazon, Facebook, and right here at Goodreads for updates as they arise!

Cheers,
Peter Felton

Ever thought of quitting your job and moving abroad? In 2016, that's what I did. As a UK citizen, I had always had the legal right to live in Europe but never exercised it. Until Brexit came along.

My wife and I planned to live in Italy for six months. But six months became two years, as we explored the continent and found a way of life very different to the one we left behind.

---------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone,

"From Void to Universe" is a non-fiction philosophy book published on July 31, 2019. This book might be interesting to some of the readers in this group. It tackles the debate between a supernatural creation vs. a natural origin by proposing a completely new approach to our view of reality.

The book develops an idea taking a position that for any theory about a supernatural creation of our universe to be valid, it must require the end result of such a creation include all the natural evidence that scientists find.

*Section One* of the book builds a foundation to develop the central idea into the format of a scientific theory. The resulting "Void to Universe theory" can be applied to any mythology or creation story.

*Section Two* presents a series of essays that shares some additional related thoughts, and also applies the theory more thoroughly in the context of Genesis. The book uses the story of Genesis and Christian faith as examples throughout both sections because that is the most common basis for creationism theories in the U.S.

Carol Es) Hi All!

I wanted thank those of you that have read my book, Shrapnel in the San Fernando Valley and announce that I have now re-released it as an updated 2nd edition. I probably should have come here before to tell you about the giveaway of 10 print books, because there's only just a few hours left as I type this, but when it's over, I'm selling the Kindle version for $2.99 for the rest of this month and all of October.

Please visit my book site for more info!

Here is a short synopsis of my story:

Artist and drummer, Carol Es grew up with a mentally abusive mother and an unstable family that moved more than a dozen times before her ninth birthday. After years of enduring horrific sexual abuse, she left home and emancipated herself by age 15. From there, she would wind up trapped in a cult for the next 20 years.

Seduced by the celebrity that lured her into Scientology and their magic promises to fix her broken life, Carol maintained an unbreakable bond with her passions as a means of survival. She exhibited her art and played music tirelessly in bands on Sunset Boulevard and the LA circuit. She toured the US and Canada, signed with Sony Music, but all the while she’d been conditioned to hide and deny her own mental illness in order to stay true to the doctrine of L. Ron Hubbard—a man who claimed psychiatric treatment was an evil hoax.

After a tumultuous childhood and years of mind control, Carol has taken a huge stride out of the blackness of fear and silence by completing Shrapnel in the San Fernando Valley in the face of resistance. With gallows humor and a unique perspective, she invites readers into her confidence, laying bare her most raw and intimate revelations on her seemingly endless search for self-worth as a woman. Managing to embrace the painfully sad scenes of her past and her biggest embarrassments, she finds absurdities one can only laugh about through tears.

Illustrated with original sketches throughout, Shrapnel in the San Fernando Valley is not just another survivor’s tale or misery memoir, it is a courageous, relatable story about gaining the ability to identify growth from experience. Sometimes true victory comes when learning, relearning, and coming out okay is triumph enough.

Lisa Marshall Hi, My name is Lisa Marshall, I’m a parenting coach and communication expert, author of the book “Easy Newborn Care Tips” who helped thousands of first-time parents dealing with most of the common issues at caring of their newborn baby.

SYNOPSIS

The first year of a child’s life is critical for healthy development.

There are so many parents who are so frustrated and distressed because they just do not know what to do for their baby. They may be faced with hundreds of parenting decisions during this period about sleeping, nourishing and caring for their baby.

The fact is, even second-time parents sometimes find themselves overly concerned about the growth and development of their baby. What did the best research say about getting a baby to sleep through the night, how much and how often should a newborn eat, how to boost brain development? I wanted to know for myself. I figured other parents did, too.

I realized I wanted a book of valuable parenting tips, tricks, and insights - based on scientific studies - that would “just tell moms what to do” to deal with the challenges of being a new parent, so that they can enjoy their baby more.

I spent more than 5 years in a deep research in infant development and childhood, collaborating with many experts in the field. I have used these proven and effective tips many times on my 2 children, but I have also helped many mothers and babies with immediate and amazing results. I summarized my research into practical, bite-sized tips. And that became my book:

“Easy Newborn Care Tips - Proven Parenting Tips For Your Newborn’s Development, Sleep Solutions And Complete Feeding Guide”

This guide provides dozens of parenting tips based on scientific research distilled into something parents can easily digest during one of their two-minutes-long breaks in the day. The pages are divided in useful section based on specific needs and situations.

The topics covered include:
- How to understand newborn child’s behavior and respond correctly
- Everything a mom need to know about breastfeeding her child
- Knowing how to interpret baby’s crying, the reason why, and the solutions
- What to do an what to avoid during child’s early development
- Baby essentials and unnecessary expenses to avoid
- Colic remedies, SIDS prevention and much more...

Rajesh` Random Cosmos

This book is a philosophical take on the riddle and purpose of human existence. It employs a casually structured conversation-style narrative to discuss a wide range of topics that include the randomness involved in all creation, mysteries of the human mind and consciousness, the miracle of evolution and resulting nature, the reality of moral values and fallacies of our society, perplexing supernatural myths of possessed humans, and the like. The author sheds light on his views about the true purpose of existence and the right methods that lead to attainment of wisdom and contemplation of the absolute cosmic truth. There are a good number of theories, principles, concepts, philosophical arguments, laws, and true stories that have been presented. The overall writing style is engaging, with a lot of questions thrown in to stimulate your thoughts. Some interesting and imaginary fictional conversations have found a place in many places. You will observe that the author digresses randomly on some occasions with peculiar, yet relevant, references to corporate HR. All in all, reading this book should be time well spent. After all, it does make sense from time to time, to think about how and why we are here.

Daniel Gair The Mexico Diaries: A Sustainable Adventure
The Mexico Diaries A Sustainable Adventure by Daniel Theodore Gair

Greetings Fellow Non-Fiction Lovers!

I'm looking for reviews for my popular expat memoir "The Mexico Diaries: A Sustainable Adventure", a feral romp through the Mexican underbrush rated 4.48 on Goodreads and 4.7 on Amazon/Kindle! (75+ total ratings)

This story-driven narrative is about my wife and I dropping out of our upscale New England existence to pursue a life a hippie homesteading in rural Mexico. In addition to the scores of outrageous animal episodes, entertaining tales of life at the nexus of Americano and Mexicano culture, and a lively cast of outlandish characters, The Mexico Diaries is, first and foremost, a story about re-inventing life, and rolling with the consequences.

Tony Cohan, Author of the NTY’s Best Seller ‘On Mexican Time’, and winner of the Literary Guild Award calls it “As lively and engaging an account of reimagining life as you’ll encounter, replete with goat wrangling, narcos, scorpions, and a rollicking cast of characters…”

Surviving Mexico.com/Book Reviews wrote: “A whirlwind Mexican journey to sustainability and beyond. A read in a million and one you won’t want to miss!”

Underratedreads.com says: There are a few books I’ve read that have had this effect on me. I look forward to my reading time, usually nap time or bedtime, because the book is there waiting for me. And, as I near the end of the book, I begin to feel sad because I know I will soon be saying good-bye to it.

This book will appeal to anyone hankering for a rollicking, real life adventure!

Kendra Ford Hi Everyone,

I am Kendra Blevins Ford, author of They Said She Couldn't So She Did.

My book is truly my great-grandmother's story- the Navy's first poster girl. What makes this story unique is that she recorded the most memorable events of her life on audio cassette back in the 1980s. Recently, I took it upon myself to not only listen to the tapes, but to transcribe them and put them into book format so that the world can finally hear her story. She was a veteran of both World Wars, a divorcee, and a single mom. My anecdotes on how similar we are in personality are noted throughout the book. This is not just a woman's story, it is a strong woman's story. She encountered and overcame so many obstacles in her life. Her story is both important, historical, and empowering.

Valeriy Bagrintsev Hi everyone!
For the next 2 days (Sun-Mon) my Architecture & Photography book Tadao Ando's Church of the Light is FREE to download on Amazon.

I hope I could find several genre lovers here who may want to get it -->
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0821WXMK2.

What do we look at? The wall or the cross, which is not really there?
Former professional boxer, Tadao Ando, though self-taught, is acknowledged as one of the most important Japanese architects and one of the greatest representatives of the minimalist current in contemporary architecture.

Framed in aesthetic design with a powerful contemporary layout and creating an engaging visual but informative narrative, this book will take you on a fascinating journey to one of Tadao Ando’s world-known signature architectural works - Church of the Light.

Light and darkness - what are they? An irreconcilable confrontation or the dual nature of (co)existence? This book will help you to reveal the spiritual secret of Ando’s “light”.

------
If you liked this book (or even if you didn’t) please write just a brief review. Your feedback is important to me and will help other readers decide whether to read the book too.

Thank you!

Llemar Nicholson I feel like I always have to preface my story with "have you heard of Crohn's disease" in Jamaica, where I'm from. I doubt I'll have to do with that here.
Hi. I'm a sufferer and overcomer of severe Crohn's disease. My debut book not only tells of my 16 years with Crohn's, but also with the added perspective of a young man growing up and trying to find himself when so much was hidden away when he was afflicted.

It's been gruesome. It's been a lesson. It's been real.

My book is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle for $19.99 and $4.99, respectively at the link below.
