Nice to hear from you J. E. Ritchie. Your novel looks great. My latest, a short story about a de-mobbed combat vet.

Hi Everyone. I am completely new at doing anything on Goodreads and thus rather inept, so please forgive me. I recently published the following book - NAUSET LIGHT: A Personal Legacy - about the private history of the Nauset Light Station in Eastham on the Cape, and the challenges faced during the erosion crisis of the 1990s that resulted in its relocation to higher ground.
This is the story of private owner Mary Daubenspeck, who gave her all to ensure that the Nauset Light Station was preserved as an intact historically authentic unit, consisting of the Lighthouse, Keeper's House and Oil House. A struggle against great odds in an unfolding multilayered conflict that left her with a difficult choice - i.e. to preserve her beloved sanctuary by the sea for personal and family use -- or to give it away in the interest of posterity and in order to follow her heart's conviction.
It is said that if you truly love someone or something, to let them or "it" go. That true love is not about possession. Mary's actions clearly demonstrated that her love was indeed true, though the struggle cost her both her health and her house -- and ultimately, doubtless her life. Mary was a freelance writer and the excerpts from her personal journaling make for an engaging read as she describes the challenges and the compelling nature of her struggle.
It is my hope that in reading this book, folks will come away with a sense of Mary's legacy to the Cape, and a new appreciation of the fact that the Keeper's House and Lighthouse are still together, now and for all time. Most of all, though my hope is that readers will find this to be an engaging and enjoyable reading experience. Thank you to all, for considering this book for your reading pleasure.
