Catherine (alternativelytitledbooks) - tired of sickness! 40 characters?!?!? No way on EARTH I could pick that up...just thinking about it gives me a headache! LOL Onward and upward, A!

message 4: by Darla (new)

Darla Sounds like this one needed to get rid of a few characters. Fantastic review, A.

message 5: by Tina (new)

Tina Too bad this one disappointed somewhat. Good review!

message 6: by Thibault (new)

Thibault Busschots The jumping around can definitely be a bit distracting if it happens too often, and can indeed make it harder to get invested into the characters. Fair review, A Mac.

Chantel Sorry to see this one fell so short, A! Given it seems that the author might want to make this into a series one would hope that the first book would have taken more time in pacing itself & presenting readers with proper world-building. If you decide to continue with the series, I hope that the other books are better, overall!

Mary Beth Great review! 💙 Hope you are loving your current read.

message 9: by Ronald (new)

Ronald A. I'd imagine audiobooks are difficult to follow with a large cast. Is this usually the case or do some other authors find workarounds (or just thin out the cast)?

Constantine Excellent review, A. Sorry that this was a disappointing read.

If I'd seen the character list first, you better believe I would have girded my loins better haha thank you, Catherine!

A little bit of linear goes a long way. Thank you, Thibault!

I'm on the fence about continuing, because I did think the world was interesting. I'll have to check the character lists at the front of the next book to see how absurd it is. Thank you, Chantel!

Some authors use multiple narrators which can help, but I honestly think I would have had the same issues reading a physical copy just because of the frequency with which this one hopped POVs. I may try the next book as a physical copy though to see if that makes a difference.
