Cozen Book 3 (but on Kresley Cole’s own website I saw it’s actually book 4) of the series, “Immortals After Dark,” Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark, #3) by Kresley Cole Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night is the one that stands out. I enjoy it because it changes locations and the werewolf (Bowen MacRieve) starts out this story entombing Mariketa. Not only is it a rocky start, the two mc’s have an enemies to lovers plot. So it’s a great combination of regret and underestimating each others convictions and power.

message 3: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Adams I would say my own book, but that would be rude. Ummm... I read a really cute one recently that I'll say is the best so far - The Alpha's Son

Cozen The Wolf's Captive (BDSM Bacchanal, #2) by Chloe Cox The Wolf's Captive Was one of my first books I read when I took up reading again… all those years ago. It’s a slight twist to the “werewolf” genre and in the erotic section.

Suanne Wright Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack, #1) by Suzanne Wright Feral Sins Phoenix Pack.
Leads into several spin off series that are all combined. Spiral of Need (The Mercury Pack, #1) by Suzanne Wright Spiral of Need The Mercury Pack.
And When He's an Alpha (The Olympus Pride, #2) by Suzanne Wright When He's an Alpha The Olympus Pride.

Shelly Laurenston has a Pride series that’s great When He Was Bad (Magnus Pack, #3.5; Pride, #0.75; Smith's Shifter World, #3.5) by Shelly Laurenston When He Was Bad

Laurann Dohner has the Mating Heat series His Purrfect Mate (Mating Heat, #2) by Laurann Dohner His Purrfect Mate

And Kresley Cole has a plethora of lycan stories in her Immortals After Dark series: they are all on my audiobook because Robert Petkoff is one of the best, if not #1 narrator of all time, A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #1) by Kresley Cole A Hunger Like No Other Pleasure of a Dark Prince (Immortals After Dark, #8) by Kresley Cole Pleasure of a Dark Prince

BJ Basic Instinct (Shifters of Darkness Falls #1) by Jasmin Quinn One of my favourite series is Jasmin Quinn's Shifters of Darkness Falls - It's not sweet, steamy and lots of use of the word 'savage'.

Alicia Walton Darkest MateOh I love this. I am new to Good reads and to this group and I have struggled to find werewolf books. I just finished reading Lola Glass Mate Hunt series. This is a sweet story with some good sex scenes. Alexis Calder Rejected Fate series, has a mixture of magic, wolves and a war spread throughout 3 books. I really like it and recommend. I am so excited to check out all your request. Thanks

message 13: by DemetraP (last edited Feb 19, 2023 06:42PM) (new)

DemetraP For a lighter werewolf read I liked Derik's Bane by Mary Janice Davidson. The hero is obsessed with Rachel Ray (the tv chef).

I liked the entire series but I always warn people that the author kills off one of the couples she gave a happy ending to later on in the series. I'm still angry about it. Derik's Bane (Wyndham Werewolf, #4) by MaryJanice Davidson

message 14: by fiore ♡♡ (new)

fiore ♡♡ surely she doesn't kill them off in the same novel does she ?? I read a werewolf story like 8 years ago that was EXCELLENT up until the author killed off the main couple and wrote an epilogue about their funeral in the POV of the next couple in the series :'))

DemetraP Fiore wrote: "surely she doesn't kill them off in the same novel does she ?? I read a werewolf story like 8 years ago that was EXCELLENT up until the author killed off the main couple and wrote an epilogue about..."

No, she doesn't kill them off in the same novel. Each book in the Wyndham werewolf series is a happy ever after for a different couple.

But she eventually does a cross over with her vampire series (Queen Betsy) and she kills off one of the couples. I know lots of fans were angry about it.

Derik's Bane is safe. The couple is fine and nobody gets murdered.

April Coleman My favorite wolf book series is Wolf's Call
Great series with a slightly different storyline. Its a different take on becoming a werewolf. Plus there are some GREAT sex scenes.

message 18: by Alisha Gabrielle (new)

Alisha Gabrielle Zodiac wolves series by Elizabeth Briggs all the way

message 19: by Angelina (new)

Angelina Everyone has their version or view o what a werewolf is, is more of the romanticized version, or the rabid horror version. I don't think I have read any rabid werewolves as horror isn't really my genre. I prefer wolf shapeshifter books.
Examples:

-Shifters Unbound By: Jennifer Ashley
- Dark Series By: Christine Feehan
a little more racey one:
Breeds Series By: Lora Leigh

Rary ⏾ ❤︎ Is there any that don’t involve the pregnancy trope?

message 26: by DemetraP (new)

DemetraP Author Mary Janice Davidson has a werewolf series I enjoy. Each wolf falls head over heels in love. Derik's Bane (Wyndham Werewolf, #4) by MaryJanice Davidson Dead and Loving It (Wyndham Werewolf, #5; Undead, #4.5) by MaryJanice Davidson

message 27: by DemetraP (new)

DemetraP I also really liked Wolf Gone Wild by Juliette Cross. The hero is a werewolf and someone has cursed him so he cannot shift. His wolf, named Alpha, is very vocal in his head (like Venom the comic book character) so there was a lot of humor.

It was also very steamy yet romantic at the same time. She loves Star Wars. He has never seen the movies. So they watch them together. He goes out and buys a bunch of Star Wars stuff so they can watch the next movie together.

message 28: by M.N. (new)

M.N. Cox This one hasn't been shelved as romance but it does have a thread of romance. I don't read much YA but I really enjoyed this earlier this year.

Welcome to Blackwood by Khaiah Thomson

It's set in Australia but, to me, had a Twilight setting feel to it. Good stuff.

message 29: by Mony (new)

Mony Thanks M.N.! Going to try it.

message 30: by M.N. (new)

M.N. Cox It's a series as well, Mony. There is at least one more book after that (possibly two). Hope you enjoy.

message 31: by Mony (new)

Mony Thanks - from Canada!

message 32: by Zoi (new)

Zoi Psy-Changling by Nalini Singh. Though, they aren’t all wolves, the series actually begins with the cats, eventually gets to the bears, and I heard the most recent book in the works is with a flock of bird shifters, still, it’s amazing. It starts out very classic PNR, but as the cast of characters grows, so does the world building, and the overall story arch beyond the couple in each book. It just gets better and better.

Have you read any of the Dark In You series by Suzanne Wright? Not wolves, but SO good. Better than Phoenix and Mercury, IMO. She also has a new series Devil’s Cradle that is amazing!

message 34: by M.N. (new)

M.N. Cox I'm quite interested to try the Nalini Singh series. Thanks, Zoi.

BJ ⛧ Rary ☾ wrote: "Is there any that don’t involve the pregnancy trope?"

Yes in Cry Wolf Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs the women cannot get pregnant, and it's important to the plot in book 1.
It's also one of my favourite shifter series, as is Moon Called Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs . Shifter women cannot get pregnant but the human women can, but the children are human not shifter. Fabulous storytelling.

message 39: by Augustine (new)

Augustine Sassi I have got to say the Patricia Briggs series. I love these books because they are so well-written and don't involve smut (sex yes, smut no). I would prefer a series that is actually under the romance category, though. Twilight is a good example of what I'm looking for, but with werewolves.

message 40: by Alma (new)

Alma Probably this gay werewolf romance I read way too long back I don’t remember its name really but it was really the sweetest love story, this guy returns to his pack after a long time and mmc goes into heat and like it’s really bad this time and the only person that can comfort him is that guy

message 41: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Kresley Cole A hunger like no other, and pretty all of her books with werewolfs and vampires and other creatures, phenomenal writing.
