Calvin ok this is written in dutch. I have been learning dutch for a while, but I still lack of the necessary vocabularies but let's try.

there were about 2 to 5 thousand jews before the pacific war, and the life there was influenced islamic values due to the lack of religious services. After the independence, those who stayed in Indonesia converted either to christianity or islam.

Before the arrival of europeans, there were already a presence of jews who originated from arabic countries (sephardic jews). The monopoly of VOC also enabled the jews from european countries to participate in the dutch’s spice trade in the indies.

The dissolution of VOC led the colonial government to recruit more people to administrate the colony including the jews. they went to the dutch east indies because there were lack of works and more jobs were available in DEI.
