I’m D.S. Coellar, and I’m new to Goodreads—both as a writer and reader, honestly. I never really set out to write a book… I just had a story I couldn’t keep in my head anymore.
My debut novel, The City Without Saints: The Orphan Boy, is a gritty, emotional noir set in a fictional Latin American archipelago called Ascalon. It’s about a boy raised in silence and violence, and how power, loyalty, and love shape (and sometimes break) us. The story’s dark, but there’s a lot of heart in it too.
I come more from storytelling than literary training—so I’m here to learn, connect, and support others walking a similar path. Looking forward to discovering more great stories, and if any of you are building your first book too, I’d love to hear about it.
