Thank you for such a kind review! Yes, I did risk literary tedium and went on tangents throughout! Not something I let my clients (I edit) do. The project was a true experiment, coming on the heels of my father's death from multiple myeloma. I stepped through many of those difficult realities with him.
It makes sense then because my father passed away from lung cancer 3 years ago and the feelings are so raw, that your descriptions resonated with me. I had a 6 month old at the time and I felt all those feelings of life/death, wanting to have a newborn bubble and also feeling anxiety seeing his decline. It’s a great book you have written - research and personal experience are powerful and I felt it when reading your book.
