Tayloura The daddy and sister thing literally made me what to vomit 🤢 it was clear it was like a pull from series 1 with this random daddy kink thrown in. I couldn’t take it

if done differently, it would've been really good but she just threw that in our faces out of the blue... also regina calling him daddy in the beginning of the book, like what the actual fuck hahaha no thank you!!!

Jenn Young I don't disagree with most of your comments - I'm still reading the book, and am on Chapter 25 ... Sigh. But I do want to note that Regina actually does directly call Maddox "Daddy" in Dukes of Peril, chapter 3. And she refers to him as "Father" to Verity, in Princes of Legacy, chapter 14. So that's not a new thing.

。⋆౨ৎ t ౨ৎ⋆。 This just told me what I needed to know which is that Samantha rue was the magic in this series and NOT angel lawson.

okay, she may have called him daddy then, but i would still be grossed out by it.

indeed, but he didn't want to and complained during the whole thing, even as an internal monologue! i just feel like he wouldn't give a man that bailed DKS a tattoo... it's just too easy and dk hasn't earned enough points with the kings and DKS again for this to be suggested, at least, from my pov! =)

Damsel Agree with you. I'm so disappointed. But since you said this book was written by one author I can feel the difference.

Cathy Thanks for the review, saved me from wasting my time.

Emily Very much agree with your review and all the already known points of stories from the lords and random glimpses of the Barons. I don’t get how we get these Barons from our glimpse with Vinny and Nick during their game with the Baron kings. I felt like it was all very rushed. I feel like we don’t know the barons or baroness at all. We did not get good description of them or just bare minimum.

Vicki Freezer The sudden change has been whiplash for sure, we've been teased about the Barons for so long told we were getting three mmc (and the king would NOT be apart of it) and then everything happened between the authors and the change has been glaring.

They had perfectly good people in the past who were able to catch continuity problems, and for there to be a blurb at the start of the book that basically says oh well, put me off immediately, because where is the care, where is the love? How can two authors create such a beautiful world, that makes you care about the characters and one author basically laughs in the face of her readers. If your unable to keep up with the world you supposedly help create, perhaps hire someone who can.

The DK were had previously been introduced to was not the DK we got in the first couple of chapters (which is about where i got up to) Hunter comes of as someone who is supposed to be this super smart person, but his actions do not depict it, and the fmc just isn't what we've all been led to believe.

Learning further that stuff has been completely taken out, such as DK not knowing the guys, the over all tone (you can clearly tell this book is written by a different person), i do not think im going to be picking the rest of the book up, which i hate because i loved everything up until this book, but this review lets me know, not to bother because it doesn't get any better.

Jon Menghini I’ve binged the books for the last 6 months and both my wife and I were excited to read it, then now finishing it today I’m so disappointed. A lot of what you said in your posts I agree with and this just felt like someone pulled ideas out of a hat and threw words at a wall and made it into a book. Idk if I want to read the next one coming out in a year.

I was expecting this to be the confirmation I needed ever since I read The Cult of Serendee by just Angel and it was so bland. I just knew from Sam’s departure that the series wasn’t going to be the same in a bad way.
Plus after people were disappointed with the ending of Serendee (like me) Angel basically encouraged others to shit on people who didn’t like it in the Facebook group.

Laquever Fryar I actually disagree with everything you said I actually loved the book and yes it’s hard to see her and Sam not working on it together but I thought she did an amazing job with keeping the world together I really think like always ppl are getting caught up in the angel and sam drama when in reality both authors are just moving on and not focusing on the drama so I really think you all need to stop creating drama that isn’t there and just enjoy the ride

She LITERALLY listed examples as to why she didn't like it and they are VALID. The story telling and tone is completely different, there's inconsistencies throughout the whole book, Angel even admits that she couldn't keep up with the timeline by herself, probably because she didn't write the original 9 books, it's obvious Sam did. the characters from past books have completely changed personalities, Nick would NEVER refer to Vinny as "crusty." If you aren't able to see that, awesome for you, but those of us who have better reading comprehension skills noticed immediately that the book is not the same nor anywhere near on the level the past ones were. it has NOTHING to do with the "drama" between the two authors, hundreds of people have the same complaint and several didn't even realize the authors had separated until they were told. You also have no idea what's been going on between the authors, you think there's no drama when they're clearly is. Sam herself said that the announcement about her departure was made without her consent and there have been plenty of comments made that tells the readers this wasn't an amicable split. Regardless that doesn't change the fact that this book SUCKS and doesn't deserve to be listed along with the past 9.

Caprisha I love this review so much. As a bw who’s read every book in the series I was so saddened by the disappointment that this story left me with.
