Bethany Turner Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. And I’m not sure why other authors write in 1st/3rd, but I’ll tell you why I do it. (I understand you still may not be a fan of it…so I’m not trying to convince you of anything!) I feel like, in general (and I’m definitely talking in broad generalities here, and certainly not all men are the same), men don’t tend to sit down and tell us every single thing they’re feeling and thinking when they tell us a story about their lives. A lot of times, when they recount something, it will be more factual or observational. But I want to know all of the inner details about what these male characters are thinking and feeling, so I rely on a narrator to tell us in 3rd person. That, for me as a writer, feels like the most reliable, authentic way to have these guys tell their stories. The women, meanwhile, are all a little bit me, I suppose (for better or worse), and I’m ready to pour out my heart to anyone who will listen. 🤪 Again…not trying to change your mind about anything…just thought I’d explain why I make that choice. Thank you again for listening and reviewing!!
