Stephanie THANK YOU. I was scrolling for this comment. I literally took my pen and fixed the pronouns and verb tenses to the correct grammar, and this book will be going to Goodwill. How embarrassing for this author.

Elvir Belardi If pronouns bother you, you’re very insecure and should stop reading modern books. At the end of the day, the author got paid and you just need to learn to be a better human being

Anna Mc ^^^^^^^ Elvir giving facts

message 4: by Mas (new)

Mas C You got within 150 pages of finishing a book that is listed as a romantacy cottagecore, about a witch librarian who is blue, and talking to plants, and somehow pronouns for a cactus made you full stop? That is insane.

message 5: by Jodie (new)

Jodie Piekarski THANK YOU. That was the absolute full stop for me as well. The thinly suggested dirt swapping plant sex was definitely off putting as well.

Book Fox In nature, cactii are generally hermaphroditic, containing both male and female reproductive parts. You are upset at a natural phenomenon necessary to propogate some species.

message 8: by Maisha (new)

Maisha I guess I can agree

message 9: by Runa (new)

Runa Merone I absolutely love watching the anti-woke crowd (Who love to complain about 'snowflakes') absolutely crumble at the mere mention of pronouns. Your insecurity is on display and it'd be great entertainment if you and people like you didn't [insert political rant here].

message 10: by Jenna (new)

Jenna Appleseed Complaining about pronouns while using them in your review - she's a pronoun btw.

message 11: by Judith (new)

Judith Naw, sweetie, I really don’t think it’s the author who needs to feel embarrassed.

I think you underestimate how much you've embarrassed yourself.
