Not sure about the rest of you, but I'm very excited to read this one! I'm a huge fan of the author, Fr. Wetta and have all of his books. This one in particular is special to me since I read it at the very start of the 2020 lockdown. I remember loving it then, but I'm curious to see if my feelings are different now that the circumstances of my reading it have changed.

I'm reading it before "The Iliad" or "The Odyssey". People say "The Eight Arrow" got them interested in reading Homer, but I would be curious to know how reading those books beforehand would impact experiencing this one.

I read The Odyssey before I read this, and I had a general understanding of the Iliad. I look forward to hearing your insights on it :)

My agent kept insisting that the story should stand on its own. He kept making me rewrite it--and I'm glad.

It was my friend Jaime Blanch Queral who said to me that there was an spanish translation of "Eight arrow" i am a big admirer of the publishing Ignatius Press and i died for reading this novel. With publishing Erase translated into spanish was a Dream made reality. I will say to Jaime that the author is participating of the discussion of the book.

I've just realized that, in leading other Greek heroes and personalities and even mythological monsters out of the Underworld, Odysseus is, in a sense, redeeming Greek mythology under the orders of Our Lady, and using a bread that is an obvious representation of the Blessed Sacrament. What do you make of this?

I never thought of redeeming the Greek characters, but you’re absolutely right about the bread being the Eucharist. Of course, just because I didn’t intend it doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

It seems implausible Odysseus had never been on a horse before.

I don't understand why these two friends/companions keep attacking each other.

By the way, I don't know if I've mentioned it, but Ulysses is my sister, Haunting Maggie,'s favorite character. She's a fan of Greek mythology, and her favorite goddess is Athena. I think she would have loved reading this book.
