H.B. Elliott Hey there.
I just wanna start by saying, thank you for your honest review. Also want to just point out that I'm commenting ONLY to answer a couple questions for you regarding the story. The last thing I want for any of my readers is confusion.

The first thing you mentioned was about Bridget being a treasured member, but was then sold off. She definitely is a treasured member, as Malek makes it his mission to seek Sev's help in protecting her. But the bigger reason for that was revealed in the big plot twist at the end (that I won't spoil here for anyone, forgive me lol) when Malek faces his father that final time and finds out the truth of everything. <3

"The brother is also in love with her" - Finn was a brother by name only. His relation to Malek and Bridget wasn't by blood, which was mentioned and explained the first time you meet Finn in the story. Think of Finn as part of the mob itself, and a high ranking member that Malek was personally close to. He SAW him as his brother...but they weren't related.

MMC was all about his ex, but drops her the second he meets Seven. He didn't drop her, she was deceased. He grieved her pretty heavily and for a very long time. Seven caught his attention initially when she resembled her, which was also another big element in their conflict near the end of the book.

"The main character also talks about her belief in God, but then later says she doesn’t think anyone has souls." - This one I can understand how it might have gotten confused, but she didn't say that. This was part of a conversation with Malek about how she 'desensitizes' herself to the bodies she cleans for bad guys. Mostly because Malek referred to himself as "soulless" and he was curious about how she feels about her clients.

Anyway, I hope this helps. I'm not at all trying to sway your overall opinion of it, if you didn't care for it, I'm totally supportive of that. Just wanted to offer some direction in the general plot.

Thanks again for reading <3
