I'd love to introduce my debut epic, grimdark fantasy novel, Gyfted. Get it FREE on Kindle Unlimited!
It's only been out for 2 weeks and already receiving 5-star reviews! I am so appreciative and humbled by each and every person who's read it. Check out the spoiler free synopsis below!
Kal is a jaded and angry young man, born a hollowborn in a world, society, and infrastructure defined by the gyft (the term for magic in). Unable to feel the gyft that flows through everyone else, he directs his fury at the oppressive Daevan Empire, whose propaganda brands him and all the other hollowborn like him as inadequate and a burden on society. His only anchor is Ovet, his lifelong friend and a calming counterpoint to his rage.
His world is shattered when Ovet not only develops her gyft, but when she manifests as the ‘Gyfted’, the very embodiment of the gyft itself. Kals feels her newfound power as the ultimate betrayal, and when the Daevans arrive to claim the Gyfted, his protective instincts war with his resentment. Seeing his chance to strike back and take some measure of control, Kal plunges himself into the underworld, allying with the ruthless rebellion, a band of thieves and cutthroats, all to infiltrate the impregnable Daevan Citadel and rescue the friend he feels he’s already lost.
But within the Citadel’s walls, Kal’s desperate rescue attempt goes horribly wrong. In a moment of chaos, he believes he is responsible for a tragedy that destroys his home and kills Ovet. Consumed by guilt and grief, he swears vengeance on the Empire that took everything from him.
Eight years later, Kal is one of the rebellion’s most hardened assassins, willing to take on the worst jobs imaginable, driven only by the memory of his failure and his need for revenge. His mission is shattered when he finally corners the Matriarch, the Daevan Empire’s figurehead for unity between the Daevan and Eudan people, only to find out that this political figurehead is in fact Ovet, very much alive.
Ovet has spent years not as a prisoner, but as a visionary leader and beacon who has worked tirelessly for a better future for all people. Now, Kal is faced with an impossible choice: complete his mission and assassinate the Matriarch, or kidnap her and risk causing another tragedy that could kill thousands.
I am more than happy to send review copies to folk who are willing to read through and leave a review either here or directly on Amazon.
This also goes for review-for-review. Send me your books and I'll dive straight into them and leave my own review.
