Sarah Outstanding review, Taufiq!! 🥰❤️ This is a classic I’ve been wanting to read for so long, and your review has made me want to read it even more! I recently watched the movie, but I doubt it’s as good as the book. ☺️🫶🏼

Sandysbookaday (taking a step back for a while) A superbly comprehensive review, Taufiq! Your comment 'those people who talk about love the most are often the ones who’ve never truly experienced it.' is true about most so-called experts, no matter the field. 💖📚

Rosh ~catching up slowly~ This is one classic I'm yet to read, but I'm definitely going to. That's why I didn't read your entire review. I'll return to your analysis whenever I'm done with the book. Very happy to see your enthusiasm for it, Taufiq!

message 36: by Fraser (new)

Fraser Simons Adored Anna K. But then didn’t get on well with W&P, could be partially because of the translation, but I just found Anna K to be so much more elegant in every way.

message 37: by Gaurav (new)

Gaurav Sagar Terrific review, Taufiq. I have tried to read it but somehow could not muster the courage to finish it. Thanks for sharing this delightful reading experience.. Would try it again sometime later in the future :)

message 38: by Tiziana (new)

Tiziana Wow! Superb ! You really wrote such a passionate review, it was a pleasure to read it. I never read the book, just watched several movie, so, I've never stopped to consider all the considerations you've made. Films, however well-made, are reductive and, in a way, misleading. Your review made me consider the characters and their actions and feelings from a different perspective... which was very interesting. Thank you!!💟👏👏👏

message 39: by Nika (new)

Nika Taufiq, your review is simply brilliant. It's evident that you put a lot of thought into it. As Anna Karenina is my favorite Tolstoy's novel, I'm really happy to see your high praise of it. Appreciate your insights, especially your reflections on love and marriage and how they shouldn't be confused with each other. It's also interesting to see how the concept of marriage has changed over the centuries. Before the 19th century, marriage was mainly viewed as a contract between two parties. But in the 19th century more people began wishing to find emotional comfort and mutual affection in marriage.
