Thank you for this. I've been contacted in the same way. All the interactions felt AI. Everything about this screams scam.
Thank you, I too have been contacted by this scammer. though no money has been exchanged, she/he/they have sent numerous emails under a slightly different email address. appearently using different emails for different victims. I decided to use my Gemini Pro account to do a deep dive into this and it confirmed that this is undoubtedly a scam. Most noted as Author in Wolfes Clothes. elizabeth has no major freelance platform presents. not even a website. There is however a presents on twitter/x but thats most likely a contrived account. BEWARE. THIS IS A SCAM!
Thank you so much for sharing this warning! 🙏 I actually received an email from them too, and luckily I saw your post before replying. Really appreciate you taking the time to alert everyone — this kind of info helps protect a lot of us indie authors.
I got an email from an author that provided a similar email. I'm a bit suspicious. I have not contacted her and I have had a string of friend requests from authors that have only a few ratings and no reviews.
I also heard of an author friend that received five stars on their book and see those ratings retracted when they checked later, it's like a weird type of ghosting.

I just got one from someone on Goodreads purporting to be Judy Blume, claiming that the Goodreads profile they were using was one they used to "more quietly" connect with fellow authors. Then I was asked for my direct email, and through that was asked if I had heard of "Readers and Revenue Research."
It took me way too long to realize what was happening. Sigh.
Thank you for this. The messages from the author "Jillians Cantor" seemed very AI. They were really pushing engagement with elizabethluke05@gmail.com. Since I have been receiving AI-generated email offers to promote my work, I always thoroughly research the source before I engage.
Thank you so much for the warning! I too have received a friend request claiming to be Aisling Rawle. Sadly I believed them in the beginning, and we even talked through email, until they mentioned Elizabeth Luke. It's the same email address as that one above. But I have since blocked them thanks to you. It wasn't yet too late for me, so I hope it won't to be too late for everyone.
