What did you think of / have you seen Long Legs? Oddity? Relic? Those are some of the recent standouts for me.
Long legs: I liked quite a bit. I have no idea what that “I have my long legs on” line meant, and it was creepy as hell.
Oddity: mostly liked it. Maybe a tad slow for me, but overall pretty interesting and nice to look at.
I haven’t seen Relic. Pretty good?
Same! Thinking about Long Legs's opening a little, two things that occur are that he is aware that he's in a movie and standing out of frame (!!) and, secondly, a common thing to do when trying to gain a child's confidence is to crouch. Long legs = intimidating, short legs = "now we're on the same level, you must be a friend." Both of these possibilities are indeed creepy as hell.
I thought Relic was pretty good! One sequence in particular makes the whole movie for me, and I personally really loved the conclusion.
