Finished the audiobook earlier this week. I credit Jimenez for helping me get my steps in—good audiobooks are my treadmill cookies and this book was definitely great. 😊Such a moving portrayal of one family’s quest to care for a loved one with dementia while also continuing to live their own lives. Dementia is such a timely topic, as more and more people are being diagnosed. Some of the behaviors described, specifically the agitation, helped me to better understand the difference between a person and their disease. In addition to covering an important topic well, I also enjoyed the family dynamics in this story. Their love was fierce and flawed and funny. And Xavier’s character was very well drawn. Don’t want to spoil but the way things bookended for him had me tearing. Have you read this book. What did you think?
