Oyasumi Punpun remains my favorite manga series, but Asano seems to have completely lost his passion or even the belief in significant meaning. It's sad to witness.

I agree. I've read Punpun, Solanin, Girl on the Shore, Nijigahara Holograph and Downfall. All great works, but the last few things I've tried reading by him lack any sort of depth, nuance, emotion or maturity that I would normally expect from him.
