This can be read for a dry overview of all the historical happenings in India (as I needed to read), but this is not a book to be enjoyed.
And oh, hearty congratulations on living in the time of Amritkal! :p

তোমার কাছেই শুনেছিলাম এটার ব্যাপারে, স্পটিফাইতে শুনতেও শুরু করেছিলাম। বেশ কয়েকটা শুনেছিলাম। আবার শুরু করতে হবে।

I had been curious about this one when I saw your update, but am not so certain anymore. My kids have a copy of A Children’s History of India, which I wanted to read but still haven't got around to. I wonder if it is comprehensive enough. But yes, it was published a decade ago, so it won't cover the current mess in the country.
