Kevin Ansbro "...as well as their father who seemed to have been born with a bottle of vodka in his mouth."
Loved that! : )

A wonderful review of this philosophical masterpiece, Anthea.
It's a slog, but a worthwhile one.

Thank you, Kevin. I'm glad you enjoyed my review and the small dose of humour in it. It took me so long to finally complete this book. I agree. It's a worthwhile read. : )

Cheryl Carey What a beautifully written review Anthea.

It has literally been decades since I chose to read Crime and Punishment in high school.

We had a wonderful English teacher who would always give us a choice out of a short list to figure out what we wanted to read. Ms. Drapek will always be remembered by me for not stuffing any certain novel down our throats especially when it could be a very long novel.

You chose to read his longest novel...good on you!

Enjoy your reading Anthea!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my review, Cheryl. Yes, it was a very long read but one that was worth it, even if it was truly a struggle at times.

It's great that your teacher had given you all a say in which book you would prefer to read from the small selection. It would have made it a more enjoyable experience rather than a chore. Those teachers always stand out from the rest, and are always remembered. : )

It was great reading about your high school days in English class. It's always fun to hear about people's different experiences. : )
