I hadn’t heard of this story, Sara. Have you read her book The Deepening Stream? It’s quite a long one but excellent in its depiction of before and during the war. A Persephone book

I have not yet read any of her novels, Antoinette. I have The Home-Maker waiting on a shelf and will fit it in next year. I suspect she is going to be another of those authors I cannot get enough of! Might have known she was a Persephone author.
