So glad you liked it too, Debbie!!
Great review, Panic! No book is complete without Donkey Kong and dysentery. 😆 I might have to check this one out someday - I've heard lots of good things!
Nice review, Mon! The uniqueness of the story got to me as well, though I too am not a gamer. I'm glad your second attempt with the book worked well.

Solid book requirements for the future: Donkey Kong and dysentery 😂

Me too. I no longer have FOMO about it 😂 Hope you have a 5-star read right now!
Yay to a very unique story concept! I have this book in my library and am glad you enjoyed it, Mon! I've heard great things about this novel. My reading mood is at its worst this year, though... Hope it improves, for I especially love to read during the summer! ☀️

Thank you, Tracy! I’m glad I didn’t quit, although I’d totally understand if other readers did. Hope you’re having a great week ❤️

I understand about reading moods. I’m currently having trouble finishing one and have a stack of 5 or so that I need to read quickly since they are library books. Inevitably, I’ll take some back and try to read them again later.
Since the beginning of this book is a slow burn, I’d say you’d need to be in just the right brain mode for that kind of intro. Hope you’re getting ready to find many books you love ❤️
It was so full of everything! The Oregon Trail game has always stuck with me in such a demented way, everything dies, it's all so horrible but "funny" at the same time in a creepy way, and that is what I think of every time I see this book 😂 Great review!

Thanks so much, Mon! 💓 My reading mood is a bit better at the moment :)

Thank you, Kimber! I liked this book so much, I’d read it again 🌺
I’m glad you went back for it, and how funny and cool that you did. I loved this, thought it showed how creative partnership is as complex as marriage. Were there flaws? Sure….

Thank you, Jennifer! I am self-employed in creative spaces, and I used to have a business partner/friend. I can confirm that relationship was almost marriage-level challenging. But what’s odd is that I miss the partnership so much. It’s easier to me to bring creative ideas to life when you have help and support. I am realizing now I probably related to this book so much and didn’t realize it.
I’m glad you realized how much you relate, that made me smile. Yes, it’s intense! But it makes so much sense that you miss it, it’s near impossible to do alone. Yet, so many of us are stuck with the near impossible. I once went into a creative partnership with an X: our lives were so much more entwined in the partnership!
