Appreciate you giving it a shot. The early chapters use repetition on purpose — it builds the voice and context before the book pivots into trafficking, power abuse, predators, and the sex marketplace. If you bailed before that, it probably did feel like it wasn’t leading anywhere. No hard feelings — different readers want different speeds.
