Thank you for your comments. I read every one of them because I'm still learning the craft of writing. You are correct. The genre I used is called narrative or creative nonfiction, and it does read like historical fiction. The characters I used, though, were not created. They actually lived in this time period, and there are numerous documents to prove what they did. I used journals and diaries to further tell their story, but they were journals and diaries from others in the same time period and place. Like you, others have let me know that I could have done a better job toward the end of this book. It appears its ending may need to be rewritten. Again, thank you for your comments. Cindy
