K Insightful review, Sara. One of the goals I laid out for myself this year is to read A Swim in a Pond in the Rain, so I'm going to come back and comment on your reviews of the corresponding stories as I read them. They will be a helpful resource for me.

Sara I will be looking forward to your thoughts on the individual stories and the Saunders book. I am finding it a wonderful exercise for my mind!

Laysee I did not quite take to this story even after I read Saunders' analysis. Glad you loved it, Sara. A Swim in a Pond in the Rain is a wonderful book. I would love to have had Saunders as my Literature teacher.

Mark Porton We are at odds on this one Sara, I thought it a bit tedious to be honest, even after reading Saunders analysis where he explained why (Turgid) Turgenev over described literally everything. Maybe I was in a bad mood - loved you write up though, and also the fact your reading this collection. Magic 🤗🦘🎈

Kathleen I'm finding this story has remained clear in my mind, but after reading your review I still want to re-read it. That's Chekhov for you!
