New Author- Adding a soon to be published book > Likes and Comments

Hello everyone,

My name is Chris, I am a writer/filmmaker from Italy, and I am about to self-publish a series of horror sci-fi novels titled Haunting Skies. I am very excited to enter this world and to connect with fellow book lovers!! I am handling marketing and discovery myself, and before sending the ebook out to ARC websites like Booksirens, I wanted to create a Goodreads page to direct the traffic from those reviews. I hope this is the correct procedure?

Book 1 of the saga is already in Draft in KDP and Ingramspark and it's finished and I am planning to hit the publish button at the end of July, beginning of August.

I wanted to ask how can I add the book now, using the ISBN number as a "soon to be published" novel. If there are further steps I should take, or suggestions please do let me know.

PS: Also, please note that Kindle digital editions can no longer be added by librarians and will be automatically imported from the Amazon catalogs; see https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

If your book is going to be a kindle edition, we will not be able to add it - you will have to wait until the book is "live" on Amazon.

I don't think mine is a kindle digital edition per se as I have Dust Jacket ready as draft on Ingramspark and wide ebook ready as draft on Draft2digital (each format has its own ISBN) but as I want to avoid duplicates, when I hit publish on these platforms will a Kindle Digital title appear anew?

I am a bit confused and thanks so much in advance for any guidance you can provide!

Kindle is exclusive to Amazon - if you're publishing the e-book through KDP, it's going to be a kindle edition. Anywhere else you'll get a regular e-book.

And yes, another edition will be auto-imported as Kindle editions do not typically have ISBN numbers - they have ASIN numbers, which means the system will see those editions as different versions of the book.

To avoid creating an unnecessary duplicate before the automatic Amazon import, for now, may I submit the paperback edition, using its separate paperback ISBN or the Dust Jacket edition with ISBN so that ARC readers will have a place to leave their reviews in the time leading to publication?

Once the Kindle edition is imported, I understand that it can be combined with the other edition under the same Goodreads work as I have my own personal ISBN for the ebook as well?

Please read the guidelines I sent in my first comment and provide all the information that we need to add the book. If you have an author website showing the cover, that would be great as well.

I am checking in to ask if I should bump my Haunting Skies new title page? It has been a week but maybe too short time, I don't want to bump if the librarians are too busy, I imagine they have endless lists of titles to add. I wanted to ask your suggestion. Thanks as always! :)
