Alannah Clarke Any questions/concerns about the group can be asked here.

This is a second thread as the other thread was starting to become glitchy.

Rhonda Lee Wunder I am not sure if you can help me. But I need to add a book and author that isn't on Goodreads. Is there a certain procedure. Thanks

Hi Rhonda, any Goodreads librarian can add it for you. I am not a librarian unfortunately, but I think there is an Ask the Librarians group.

Question for other members: do we have a librarian in the group that can help add the book for Rhonda?

Rosh (on a medical break) I'm a librarian. We already have a thread in this group for librarian requests. Please make your book addition request on that page, Rhonda. Make sure you provide the Amazon page of the book edition you want to be added.

LauraT I'm also a librarian. You can ask whenever you want: as soon as I see it - I'm not often on line - I'll put it in!

Kim Hi there! It's taken me 4 months to notice we don't appear to have a thread for 'Favourite Books of 2024!!
Perhaps you haven't done one this year as it seems to have been fading in popularity over the years?!

Will open it now. Thank you.

Greg Hi Alannah, did you freeze the fiction nominations thread on purpose? Right now, it isn't open for comments. I could open it, but I wasn't sure if you froze it on purpose to open it on a certain date?

Hi Greg, I froze it on purpose to send out on the 1st December. I'm just about to open it now and send out the broadcast message.

I'm sorry Jade, completely missed it with writing my dissertation. Will push it back to next week and it will run into May.

Steve Bigler Thank you Alannah. Good luck with the dissertation!👍

Alannah Clarke Thank you Steve.

message 17: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Veil Hi moderators,

I would like to post about whether or not I should have a prologue in my sequel.

Is that appropriate for this group, do you think? Or should I just post, and if you don't like it, you can take it down?

Hi there,
Thanks for checking with us 😊

We try to keep the group focused on broader discussions and limit posts that are very specific to an individual project, as allowing these regularly can quickly become overwhelming.

You’re very welcome to take part in discussions on writing techniques, though for project-specific feedback we may not be able to approve those posts going forward.

Thanks for understanding, and we appreciate you checking first.

Jonia Epp Hi Greg, sorry to ask this under an unrelated post, but I couldn't message you directly. I recently received an email from someone using your name and this group's name, referring me to a person offering paid author marketing services. Before I respond to them, I'd like to confirm with you whether that referral actually came from you. I've sent you a friend request so we can talk privately. Thank you!

message 20: by LauraT (new)

LauraT Hi Jonia, Greg is at the moment absent, but I'm pretty certain that he didn't give your name for any marketing service. Especially of it's a paying service I'd be really carefull if I were you

Hi, thank you so much for letting us know and for checking before responding. This doesn't sound like Greg at all, so we're glad you reached out. Please don't engage with the email, as it may be a scam or someone impersonating him. We will try to make Greg aware of this so he can look into it. Thanks again for bringing it to our attention.

Thank you, Alannah. I appreciate your reply. The whole interaction looked suspicious to me, so I decided to validade it first.
