I think this is a valid reason, unless the grammar is an integral part of the story like in the color purple for example. otherwise, ew.
This is why I haven't started this series yet. I saw some dialog somewhere that indicated this and I can't stand it! I don't care if they are cowboys, it's just "ick" to me. I was hoping it was a one off, but seems not.
Elsie silver has some great cowboy romance options with proper grammar if my memory is serving me. No need to suffer!
I nearly quit one the other day as they kept using further... when they meant farther. It's such a small thing, but it really irked me.
Absolutely not... I personally feel if you can't get past the language how can you get into the story?
Oh no. I might, depending on the context. I feel like I would be more forgiving if it was set in an earlier time period?
This is the worst of the serie... I mean most of the serie wasn't that amazing anyway.
I feel like it's a sort of slang from Texas and cowboys but it totally irked me the whole way through..
I had such a hard time with this book 🫣 people say it’s amazing butttt I can’t say I agree. I almost DNFd like 10 times.
I DNFed right around the same mark. It just felt like the author was going too hard with a sophisticated city girl vs an unworthy ignorant uneducated country bumpkin cowboy. I hate that trope and it just makes me hate the know-it-all FMC.
dnf it for sure. unless it’s an arc you are reading, reviewing, and correcting, it’s not worth it. i’m not an english major but i dnf quick when i struggle to get through the chapter because of errors.
I’ve listened to this series, and I think that made it more palatable? I love this series! When I need a silly dirty romp between heavier reads, I’ll listen to one of these. 😂
I had to DNF also; I tried audio and it was just so slow. Nothing happened for 40% of the book so I gave up.
The first book in the series was hard to get into the second book and the last book In this series is better!
