“She don’t want to see me”
Is it wrong to DNF a book 5% in because the main character keeps using improper subject verb agreement? I know it’s a cowboy romance, but I don’t think I can do 300 paged of purposeful bad grammar.

I think this is a valid reason, unless the grammar is an integral part of the story like in the color purple for example. otherwise, ew.

This is why I haven't started this series yet. I saw some dialog somewhere that indicated this and I can't stand it! I don't care if they are cowboys, it's just "ick" to me. I was hoping it was a one off, but seems not.
Elsie silver has some great cowboy romance options with proper grammar if my memory is serving me. No need to suffer!
I nearly quit one the other day as they kept using further... when they meant farther. It's such a small thing, but it really irked me.
