I haven’t read Bound in Mist either, but after reading this discussion, I might have to add it to my TBR. The premise is definitely intriguing.
The mysterious bond would probably draw me in first. I haven’t read Bound in Mist yet, but I just came across this discussion and the premise really caught my attention. The mix of romance, mystery, and fantasy definitely makes me curious to add it to my TBR.
Thanks for the invite, Matthew! I really appreciate it. Do you think you’ll be able to read this one along with the remaining two books we have for this month?
I’m loving the different reactions here, especially how many readers are drawn in by the mysterious bond. What makes *Bound in Mist* especially intriguing is that the bond between Sierra and Rhaith isn’t just about romance, it opens the door to deeper questions about the torc, their connection, and the secrets surrounding them.
With fae, dragons, slow-burn romance, danger, and mystery layered in, there seems to be plenty for fantasy readers to discover.
For those reading it now: what has hooked you most so far, the bond, the romance, or the mystery behind it all?
I think my favorite part is that Hollywood actor Matthew Gray Gubler has apparently joined Goodreads but didn't even spell his own name correctly.

Now that's just crazy talk.
Next you'll be telling us
that dragons defy logic too.
Some people . . .

An advert from someone who has 0 ratings / 0 reviews on Goodreads and just joined last month. Yet, Elizabeth is CRAZY about this book, and this book alone?
In fact, everyone who has responded with exuberance about this book just joined within the last month or so. If this book is so good that it is causing people to flock to Goodreads to set up new accounts to talk about it, it absolutely MUST be worth reading.
DISCLAIMER: This post is absolutely not intended to be dripping in sarcasm...... or is it?

Feel better now?

Imagine discovering that you're literally bound to another person by an ancient torc and that neither of you fully understands why.
That's the starting point for D.S. Palonen's Bound in Mist.
What caught my attention isn't just the romantic element. The story seems to combine fantasy, romance, adventure, and science-fantasy, with Sierra and Rhaith being pulled into a world of secrets, strange forces, danger, and a history they don't fully understand.
It made me curious because I'm always interested in fantasy books that don't fit perfectly into one familiar box.
So I'm curious about the fantasy readers here:
If you saw a book with that premise, what would make you want to pick it up?
The mysterious bond?
The romance?
The worldbuilding?
The science-fantasy element?
Or the larger mystery behind why they're connected in the first place?
And if you haven't read it yet, that's completely fine, I haven't seen everyone in this group read every book that gets mentioned. I'm more interested in what about the premise catches your attention.
Would this be the kind of fantasy you'd put on your TBR? Why or why not?
