I'm a young teen girl and I was wondering if anyone had some recs to add to my tbr? Thanks in advance 😁

Before the exhale was so good only last chapter has spice you can skip it though but check the trigger warnings

I’m a huge fantasy reader and i loved the entire Mortal Instruments universe by Cassandra Clare. I remember it as being very clean. The only questionable part, maybe, i think doesnt arrive until the story line moves in to the second generation. Consult the author’s website for the reading order

Dearheart, I suddenly realized two of my recommendations were not squeaky clean.. Here are my guidelines:
1. Any book written before 1914 and World War I is guaranteed to be clean.
2. Any book written before 1960 is guaranteed to use relationships and violence discreetly.
3. Any book written after 1960 may have graphic sex and/or violence.

Here are some replacement choices:
For Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451,” his masterpiece, substitute “Something Wicked This Way Comes”
For George Orwell’s “1984,” his masterpiece, substitute “ Animal Farm”

I’d definitely add a few more clean YA and fantasy books to the list. I think it’s especially helpful when readers mention content warnings, because what counts as “clean” can be different for everyone.

There are so many great books for younger readers, and checking the content beforehand makes it much easier to find something that matches your preferences.

Another Clean, Christian Recommendation: I recently finished the four-book series, STARLIGHT ANIMAL RESCUE by Dandi Daley Mackall. It has horses, dogs, and cats and their respective care-takers.

Treasures of the Lochs
This is suspenseful YA Christian fiction, involving a modern-day treasure hunt in Scotland, with a bit of supernatural thrown in. Blending historical fact and Scottish legend within an action-packed adventure, Treasures of the Lochs is a powerful story of faith, friendship, and redemption. The target audience is teenage and above (some parts would be too intense for younger readers). This book is a 2024 NIEA Finalist in Religion Fiction. Another almost clean read: If you don’t mind bad language, and some inner-city violence, “Theo of Golden” by Allen Levi is phenominal! I was in tears by the ending … and I never cry.

I LOVED the naturals!!

I really enjoyed the wrath & the dawn, if I recall correctly is clean, should have some fade to black scenes

May I also recommend: Alys Clare’s romantic adventure, “Out of the Dawn Light,” the first volume in her Aelf Fen series. It does have some rather adult relationships, but it’s essentially a clean set of books.

Hi!!!! If you don't mind language and a teeny bit of violence, then I wholeheartedly recommend The inheritance games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (as a younger teen myself it's one of my favs) there's the OG trilogy, (The Inheritance games, The Hawthorn Legacy, The final gambit), then a book that comes after that(The brothers Hawthorn), after that you can read Games untold and the same as backwards and forwards (but be careful cos one of the short stories in games untold will spoil the next book so check the timeline), and after all that there's The Grandest Game trilogy (The Grandest Game, Glorious rivals, Gilded Blade).. It's a mystery with a romance side plot and the writing is rlly clever

Wolf Pact: Fated mates, touch her and die, small town pack werewolf romance

This is a clean YA werewolf romance. No spice, but all the feels. Only one or two instances of mild language.

Lexie comes to town to find her grandmother, but soon discovers she is the future alpha's soulmate. In this world, soulmates are the kiss of death to a guy's wolf. Literally. They can't be together. In fact, he's supposed to kill her as soon as he meets her.

Aaaarrrrggghhhh! How can anyone think that YA is for sissies? I don’t know about such a thing as “Violence Quotient” … but “Wolf Pact” would definitely register on its Richter scale. I think I’ll stick with Rudyard Kipling’s “Jungle Book” or, perhaps, Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island.”
