Terry Lawson Hi, I'm brand new here and looking forward to hearing from others who find life stories inspiring.

I just finished my memoir, "An Unconventional Woman: Exploring jungles, love, motherhood and identity" and it will be released October 21st. I'm looking for a handful of people who might be interested in reading/reviewing it before it's released. I can email a digital version.

This is the description so you can see if it's of interest to you:

Terry Lawson Dunn’s life has been anything but conventional. A childhood decision to become a wildlife biologist conflicted with 1960s expectations for women, but she pursued that path and found herself in far-flung places from the Idaho wilderness to the forests of Panama. Then came motherhood, her husband’s devastating cancer, divorce, and the challenge of raising a polymath son who defied all wisdom from parenting books.

Years later, after finally finding love, a long-hidden family secret shattered everything she thought she knew about herself. During the pandemic, she set out across the West to meet strangers who turned out to be family.

Ultimately, Lawson Dunn’s unconventional approach to life led to a surprising answer to the questions of where she belongs and why she is here—as well as this memorable, entertaining, and inspiring memoir.

Karin Are you the artist and/or are you the same as the author listed here? Terry Lawson Dunn Will you be releasing this book on Amazon or selling it with any conventional bookseller?

I don't read ARCs because my average rating on GR is less than 3.5 plus I read what I feel like when I feel like it, so it might take me too long to get to it. However, I am a GR volunteer librarian. If you read this, please reply and I'll help you.

Terry Lawson Hello Karin. Nice to 'meet' you. I am the author and painted the cover art. If you googled me, then it probably led you to a few pages of links, including my art website, other books, other things I wrote, and I'm not sure what else. Ha ha. I don't see how I can include the book cover image here, otherwise I'd love to include it. I'm aiming to include the book cover on my art website in the next couple of days.

The memoir will be on Amazon and as soon as that is fully enabled, I can attach it here to Goodreads and include a link.

I also read what I feel like when I feel like. :) So, how can I help you help me? I'm interested.

Terry

Once your book ends up on Amazon, it's going to go to this author page Terry Lawson Dunn who wrote Guide to Global Environmental Issues. If this is you, well and good. If not, I can edit how your author name is entered so you have your own author page without you having to ask on the Goodreads Librarian page (which of course you can do if you like.) Then I'd tell you how to claim your author page so you can personalize it whether or not it's the one I've linked.

When there is more than one author with the same name, we have to add an extra space (or more if there are multiple authors with the same name, which there aren't in this case) between two of the names that doesn't show on your author page :)

eg James McBride, the famous author of books such as The Color of Water: A Black Man's Tribute to His White Mother and The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store has three spaces in between his first and second name because there are at least three authors with that name--it's possible some haven't been separated out.

Terry Lawson Karin,

Ahhh. I see what you are asking. Yes, both the Art of the National Parks book and Guide to Global Environmental issues are my books as well. So, I'm good there.

My memoir is still in review with Amazon, but once that's done, I can include it here too. It's not 'discoverable' yet.

Thank you, thank you!!

Terry

Excellent--I knew if that was you, it would end up there. However, have you thought of claiming your author page so you can personalize it? I just scroll to the bottom and tap/click on "let us know."

Terry Lawson Hi Karin,

You have been a big help! Thank you. I personalized a few things about my profile just now (image, interests), but I'm not sure if that's what you meant.

:) The page for your account that you're posting with which shows with your picture is your personal page, not your author page--if it was, the books you've authored would show up. There is this one is Terry Lawson Dunn which is where your book shows up. If you have authored all of those books, I suggested you claim your author page and personalize it. Click on the link I gave, scroll to the bottom and tap/click on "Let us know" to begin the process.

If you didn't, then there needs to be a second author page for Terry Lawson Dunn. :)

Terry Lawson Hi Karin,

Ah... "Let us know" is in little, bitty print and not where I was scrolling to the bottom. Sheesh. Now I see what you mean. I think I began the approval process. It sounds like I'll hear back in a couple days, so we'll see if I did everything right.

We must be in very different time zones, since it consistently takes me 16-18 hours to get back to you!

Thank you again,

Terry

We're two hours apart in time, but it depends what time of the day you come here :) I grew up in BC and CA, but live in New England now.

It's not easy to see where to claim your author page, but I appreciate that you follow your posts :)

Terry Lawson Karin,

Oh yeah....I try to keep up with my posts, messages, etc. I appreciate that you do too.

You undoubtedly have some great Fall colors right now.

Thank you for all your help. I now see my author page/stats/etc.

Mariya Coblenz Hi Terry,

I would be delighted to be a member of your ARC team.

Your book description sounds very interesting and I just love your artwork.

Can you let me know how I can access a digital copy.

Thanks.

Mariya

Terry Lawson Hello Mariya,

Thank you for reaching out! I'm so glad something about the description and artwork resonates with you. We went through so many cover designs, but that bird kept looking at me! Ha ha.

I think I can email you the ePub version. (I don't know how that works from your end, but have a hunch you have a better idea than me). If you have another method that would work better, let me know, otherwise send me your email and I'll send it.

Very sincerely,

Terry

Mariya Coblenz Sounds good.

My email is casamejicana@gmail.com

Another way is to email the ePub direct to my Kindle email address: casamejicana_ZsymU1@kindle.com, but I will need to know your email so the transfer is pre-approved.

All the best

Terry Lawson Mariya,

I just sent you an email with the ePub attached. If it doesn't work, let me know and I'll try the other method. I have to learn this stuff anyway!

My email address (just in case) is: tlawsondunn1@gmail.com

Thank you, thank you,

Terry
