I was particularly interested in the way the teens have competing ideas about how to handle H.I.V.E., Trigon, and the next generation of superheroes. The question of whether H.I.V.E. could truly be their greatest ally—or whether that alliance comes at too high a cost—gives the story an engaging layer of tension beneath the superhero action.
