Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! I always love seeing how different people write and come up their characters.

Personally my favorites are East of the Sun and West of the Moon, King Thrushbeard, The Wild Swans, and The Goose Girl. Mainly because either the story has the princess doing the saving or just the overall moral of the story.

I also have always had an interest in The Twelve Dancing Princesses, mainly because I always wondered why. That and it has kind of made the princesses out to be the villains in a way.

Ah, East if the Sun, West of the Moon! Have you ever read "East" (sometimes called "North Child"?) beautiful retelling! Definitely one I should consider adding to the list.

I have a story idea for Wild Swans on the back burner, but I definitely have enough to keep me busy with my steampunk retellings!
