Thanks for answering this one! It's reassuring, also for me personally as writer. I'm writing a book that takes place in Brazil (including the Amazon). Have done massive research including interviews, but it looks more and more like I won't be going there, for some of the same reasons that you described. It didn't occur to me for a moment that your book (which I enjoyed greatly!) was written by someone who has not visited Antarctica herself, so I'm full of hope... 🙏 😊
