Your reply confused me. The Woman in the Water is a prequel, so did you just mean 'The Inheritance'? I remember John and Polly getting married in that book, and Jane must tell Charles she's expecting, although I read it too long ago to remember. So many books, it's hard to keep all the details straight! My spouse and I read mysteries all the time. Amelia Peabody, Lord Peter, Mary Russel/Sherlock Holmes, Albert Campion, Miss Silver, Maisie Dobbs, Leaphorn & Chee, Nero Wolfe, Flavia De Luce, No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, many more--and Charles Lenox is among our favorites, for sure!
