Softness Is there a 5 Gods encyclopedia hidden in a closet, maybe? *bounce* I could um hold onto it for you! *grin* LOL I'd put it on a shrine with flowers and tasty cinnamon rolls. It'd be well protected from mold. Yep!

Softness On a little more serious side, I'd noticed this recently while re-reading the Penric books in chronological order. It's interesting seeing the different sorts of interactions Penric and Des have in Lodi compared to Mission. Mission was written first, but when I read Lodi before Mission (because Lodi was earlier in the timeline), it was so interesting! Even though it was maybe a year apart in the story. Not going to drop spoilers, just in case. But yeah.

Heather There's always things like fan wikis to use too: chalion.fandom.com /wiki/ Chalion_Wiki

Lois Bujold @ Heather --

That too, but it only works for writers published and popular enough for their work to have spawned a fan wiki. (Invaluable for fanficcers, though.)

Snail This has been so fun to read!

Karenhunt A thing that could be tried, which was a big help to me in making the Chalion and Vorkosigan wikis, is to use One Note to track different kinds of information. A section for world-level info, tabs for each larger class of information with subpages for individual topic.

(You don't want to see mine - an entire section on recipes, another for authors, a third for Lois, a tab for foldit, and so forth)

message 7: by Softness (new)

Softness @Karenhunt Hee hee, yes! I keep my collection of 5 Gods tidbits in a big spreadsheet. lol

message 8: by Karenhunt (new)

Karenhunt @Softness - excel or something else? quotes or info?

Wondering about having a look to steal stuff for the wiki if there's useful info.

message 9: by Softness (new)

Softness @Karenhunt I use Google Drive. And they are my own. My Precious. *big grin*

Karenhunt @Softness - awww. I'll survive!

message 11: by Softness (new)

Softness @Karenhunt It actually isn't all as impressive as I make it seem. I got behind and am still updating it. I enjoy working on it and find it grounding.

Melinda With all these worlds swirling around in your head, if you're relying largely on memory, how do you keep track of what is published (and therefore unchangeable) and what was merely imagined, or nixed from a draft, or whatever?
