Allen Horne The best thing about being a genius is getting even with people who treated you like shit. Being a writer means nothing to me; it's either greatness or nothing. Black and white. No in-between. Period. End of sentence. End of thought. You can be a second-rate lawyer; you can't be a second-rate writer. And worse still, there's nothing you can do about it. You can perfect your craft (obviously) but the spark is either there or not. It has nothing to do with you because it doesn't come from you, it comes from God.

Allen Horne God in the sense of the cosmos, the universe, the collective unconscious. From photons and the Higgs thing, electrons, the quanta, and the very large. All of it comes together and the great artist, the great conduit, turns the dial and the show begins and he puts it down on paper and then shapes it. This is true for every great artist and each, in their own way, says so.
